File Preparation
Tips for preparing 3D files for quality printing
Preparing Files for 3D Printing
The quality of the final product depends on the quality of the 3D model. Here are some tips.
Wall Thickness
The minimum recommended thickness is 1.2mm. Thinner walls can:
- Fail to print correctly
- Be fragile and break easily
- Cause printing issues
For functional parts (brackets, holders), we recommend 2mm or more.
Watertightness (Manifold)
The model must be "watertight" — no holes, open edges, or overlapping surfaces. Most 3D software has check and repair tools:
- Blender: 3D Print Toolbox → Check All
- Meshmixer: Analysis → Inspector
- Fusion 360: Mesh → Repair
Scale and Units
Make sure the model is at the correct scale:
- The standard unit is millimeters (mm)
- Check dimensions before uploading
- You can adjust dimensions in the platform after uploading
Mesh Resolution
- Too low resolution → visible edges and roughness
- Too high resolution → unnecessarily large file with no visible improvement
- Recommended resolution: 0.1-0.2mm for detailed models
Not Sure?
Just upload the file — our team will review it and let you know if anything needs to be adjusted.
